Shipyard Gantry Crane Introduction
The shipbuilding gantry crane is a special lifting equipment that works on the dock, slipway or platform of the shipyard to carry out the lifting and turning over of the hull sections.
With the development of large-scale shipbuilding industry, the sales of shipyard gantry cranes and the demand for shipyard gantry cranes are growing rapidly. Compared with traditional gantry cranes, large shipyard gantry cranes have obvious advantages in the installation and transportation of hull sections. It spans the dock (berth) and can provide on-site assembly services on the dock coverage surface. It not only has the functions of lifting and horizontal transportation, but also can realize the aerial flipping of the hull and adjust the sections to the necessary position for ship welding.

Features of Shipyard Gantry Crane
- It has multiple functions such as single lifting, tandem lifting, aerial flipping, and horizontal micro-rotation in the air.
- The gantry has two forms of single beam and double beam for users to choose from. In order to improve the utilization rate of materials, the main beam adopts a variable cross-section design.
- The rigid legs of the gantry have two options: single column and double column.
- The upper trolley is a double main hook, located on both sides of the main beam, which can move 0~2 meters laterally independently or simultaneously.
- The lower trolley has a main hook and an auxiliary hook, located directly below the center of the main beam.
- The upper and lower trolleys can pass each other during operation.
- All lifting and running mechanisms use variable frequency speed regulation.
- On the side of the rigid leg, a cantilever crane is installed above the main beam for the maintenance of the upper and lower trolleys.
- For the convenience of operators and maintenance personnel, a lifting device is installed inside the rigid leg.
- To prevent damage from strong winds, reliable windproof devices such as rail clamps, ground anchors and anchor chains are installed.
